Christmas Hamper & Angel Gift Program A Great Success!
Thank you to all the volunteers, donors, board and staff who made the 2011 Centre Wellington Food Bank, Christmas Hamper & Angel Gift Program a great success. Over 175 families received food hampers and 160 children under the age of 18 were given gift packages. Once again the Centre Wellington community came together to help those using the Food Bank. Well done Centre Wellington!
Food Bank Office Closed For The Holidays.
The Food Bank Office will be closed December 24 to January 2. We will open again on Tuesday, January 3, 2012. The Board, Staff and Volunteers wish everyone a safe and Happy Holiday!
Christmas Toy Drive
The CWFB  2011 Christmas Toy Drive is underway! on Tower Street South (Hwy 6)  is collecting new, unwrapped TOYS (or cash donations) from November 16th - December 13th for the Food Bank.  These toys will be given to Food Bank client families (newborn to age 18). This project is co-sponsored by Reliable Motors and the Fergus Lions Club.
Christmas Angel Program
The CWFB Christmas Angel Program is looking for donors to help make Christmas a little more special for those less fortunate. To participate please email the Food Bank  at cwfoodbank@wightman.ca or call us at (519) 787-1401 and a volunteer will provide you with more details. Thank you for your generosity.
Christmas Turkey Drive
CWFB needs your support for the 2011 Christmas Turkey Drive! The purchase of a ticket for $20.00 will provide a family with a turkey dinner for Christmas. Tickets are purchased at the Fergus branch of the Bank of Nova Scotia - For every ticket purchased the bank matches it dollar for dollar. A tax deductible receipt will be issued.
One Year On … Community Kitchen in Action!
Every year St. James Anglican Church in Fergus hosts ten community dinners which are held on the third Friday of the month. These dinners have been a feature in the community for over 12 years. Clients are required to book monthly grocery appointments. Food donations can be received at the food bank during these times. To arrange alternate appointments or donation drop-offs please call.

Community Donation Boxes

Donation boxes are located at Zehr’s, Price Chopper and the L&M grocery store in Elora. You can also bring your donation to the food bank or call for a personal pick up.

    Just a quick note of explanation for you when you start going through the donations from the Movie Night.

    You will find a bundle of Sparklers. Please put these aside and if you come across clients who may have children having a birthday, please give them a pkg for their birthday party. We figure that your clients don’t necessarily have funds for ‘frills’ like sparklers, but there is no reason the kids should do without something special on their birthday.

    I just figured something out of the ordinary – along with our bag of food – need a bit of background!
