Can the food bank help me?

New clients can apply  to the food bank and must provide;

  • Proof of Residency within the Centre Wellington Township
  • Income information from all sources for all individuals in the family
  • Photo Identification; acceptable Photo Identification are Drivers Licence, Health Card, Social Insurance, Passport or BYID.

CONFIDENTIALLITY IS PROVIDED

Please call us in order to book your registration appointment. The application process is quick and new clients will receive food on the first available appointment day following approval of your application. Being prepared and coming with the right information will assist you in the process. If information is not brought in on the registration date it will be required before you receive assistance from the C.W. Food Bank.

Centre Wellington Food Bank clients can attend the food bank once per month by booking an appointment, either on your current appointment date or by phone. Remember to book your appointment ahead of time as our available appointments are taken quickly. Shopping day’s are on Tuesday and Thursday from 1:00pm to 4:00pm.

Our clients shop with a volunteer and visit our clothing room where we ask that you only take three items per visit.

Clients can also visit the food bank without an appointment for bread after 3:00pm (please call ahead to ensure that there is enough bread available, 519-787-1401).

At the end of the month we receive a shipment of milk. Clients can receive a proportionate amount of milk on there visit time, if available, sometimes we do not have milk products, such as milk, cheese, butter, and we also get eggs periodically, but again these donations as with all donations are periodical, and are not guaranteed.

Community Agencies

The Centre Wellington Food Bank often refers clients to the Community Resource Centre
(519-843-7000) and The Rural Womens Support Program (519-843-6834). Needing assistance can be stressful and our clients can be helped by other agencies in the community as well.
